Harvard Health came out with a study about the how listening to music affects creativity. Hmmm...maybe I need to pump up the music when I enter MY basement and begin to paint. (The MY is because our basement is multifunctional .... an art studio, an Xbox room, an exercise room, a tv room, and even a guest room!). I began to reflect on how the type of music I listen to when painting affects the result of the work. For instance, the result of my painting is different when I listen to classical music, Dave Matthews, the Connell's or REM (is that dating me or what!). Anyway, this article peaked my interest, because music sets the mood, right? Well, come to find out, their research shows that music may actually interfere with creativity. I do remembered times when I've had complete solitude, not only was my painting better, but it took me way less time. Now, speed is not what I've been striving for, but let's face it, the faster you can paint, the more works you can create and then obviously, the more inventory you have to sell! I guess I'll move to painting in solitude ... however, beginning my session with music may not be a bad idea to get it all going!
To have self-esteem, to feel good about oneself, is a lifelong need of everyone at all stages of life. When self-esteem is present you are able to do almost anything you set your mind to, and do it with vigor and enthusiasm. When you have none, we feel that the world feels is ganging up on you.
Did you realize that your mood may be directly related to the presence, or lack there of, of key nutrients! Well...I am here to tell you that fueling my body with proper nutrition each day for the past two years has made a HUGE difference in my life. Watch out world...the best Leah is emerging!
See, self-esteem begins with our bodies, more specifically, our gut. We are what we eat. And, there are a lot of ways to eat today -- gluten-free, keto, vegetarian, etc.. It seems simple, and yet it is a challenge for many of us. Give me simplicity ... I don't want to think!
Dr. Mark Hyman is a wonderful resource, specifically this article: https://drhyman.com/blog/2018/04/13/how-to-feed-your-gut/. However, I have really enjoyed the simplicity of the Isagenix system combined with healthy foods. Do you have any "secrets"? I'd love for you to share!
Here's to a better you!
